Applications:β-(Aminomethyl)cyclopropanepropanoic acid hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of β-(Aminomethyl)cyclopropanepropanoic acid (CAS# 126822-40-0) which is a γ-aminobutyric acid analogue used for treating epilepsy and other neurodegenerative disorders, depression, anxiety, panic, pain, neuropathological disorders, gastrointestinal damage, and inflammation. It is also used in the preparation of cyclopropyl-substituted γ-butyrobetaines for inhibition of γ-butyrobetaine hydroxylase of Pseudomonas sp. AK-1 which catalyzes the final step in the biosynthesis of carnitine.
